Curtains
-
Another
thing that was "not too good" was that head door. It
would't stay open, was cramped when it was closed.... just all-in-all
not too useful. I took it off. If you want to see what I did
with it after I took it off, see the Large Cabin/Cockpit Table
section on the main page.
-
- Instead of the
door I put up two curtains. One closing off just the head, shown
here, and the other separating the forward part of the cabin.
-
- When stowed,
one curtain is on each side of the head opening.
-
- We sacrificed
the look of the head door closed when not in use, but this is
a small price to pay in order not to have to perform the famous
"backing in" dance each time you needed to use the
head.
- For the tracks,
I used some sliding track from an RV store (MUCH cheaper than
marine stuff). The little sliders just sewed on to the curtains
with little eyes(my wife is a miracle worker). The ones I found
were much smaller than the roller kind and therefore the tracks
were very thin - didn't protude down from the cabin top much
at all.
-
- Each curtain
has a velcro tab to wrap around and hold it to the bulkhead.
-
- The Curtain
below goes all the way down to the floor and has a "notch"
for the berth.
- Its kind of
shaped like this:
This curtain separates
the entire forward part of the boat from the cabin. It is much
easier to change clothes there than the 2ft x 2ft head area.
