- Small
Cabin Table
-
- The large table
was fine for the cockpit, but was a bit too big to be used regularly
in the cabin. I wanted something quicker and smaller to set up.
-
-
- This is what
I came up with. This table was made from 1/4 inch plywood so
that it would be light.
-
- If you're interested
in this, you'll have to stay with me close on this one.....
-
- The table "slides
in and under the small (1/2 inch) overhang of the galley countertop.
-
- There are "tracks"
that I made that go on the support walls of the counter top.
-
- There is also
a swing-out support for the table so that it doesn't need a leg.
-
- Again I put
a little molding around the edge, except where it had to go under
the countertop overhang.
-
-
-
- In the next
picture you can see the swing-out table support and the "track"
attached to the side of one of the counter support walls.
-
- A notch is cut
out of the swinging support arm in order for it to close around
a wood block mounted 1/4 (the thickness of the table) under the
counter overhang.
-
- On the side
(above the big cooler opening) is another block which clears
the counter top by 1/4 inch, but it is out from the side wall
by 1/4 inch strip.
-
- This forms a
track which a mating wood strip (on the bottom of the table)
can slide into.
-
- In the next
picture the underside of the table can be seen with the wood
strip slid into the track and the swing-out support open.
-
- The table is
stowed, similar to the large table, along a bulkhead in the V-berth.
