The Tempest was designed by Ian Proctor and has been recognized by the International Yacht Racing Union for two man keel boat competition.
Its design advantages include the planing features of a centerboard boat and the stability, self-bailing and self-righting qualities of a keel boat.
The keel is retractable for launching and trailering. The spars and rigging are of the latest design.
